Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts Our own Christina Warren will be helming the Starship Chitchat tonight, with a review of this week's top Mac topics! Tonight, we'll be talking about the slow (and unsteady) transition to Mobile Me, and the Mac OS X 10.5.4 update. And hey, did you hear there was some new product coming? I think it's this coming week. I can't remember what it is, though. Feel free also to catch up on past shows by visiting our page at Talkshoe. Listen live, tonight at 10 eastern! Follow the jump for details on how to join tonight's call. Continue reading Talkcast reminder: 10 p.m. ET tonight! Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Reminder, TUAW Talkcast 1st anniversary show at 10pm

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts If you haven't tuned in yet for last week's talkcast, go check it out -- it features Scott's farewell announcement and our cranky assessment of MobileMe's first weeks. Download direct, or subscribe to the TalkShoe feed in iTunes. Join us again tonight (Sunday 8/3) for our next live show, 10 pm ET as usual. Since this is the first anniversary of our little podcasting experiment (the kickoff show was back on 8/2/2007), we'll be looking back at the past year of Apple news and casting our Predict-O-Matics forward into the fall. We'll also be digging into the Ghost of Trivia Past bag for some trivia giveaways, all quite vintage (Mac OS 9 games! A broken iPod Mini! A copy of iMovie 3 Solutions by Erica Sadun, which we can probably get autographed for you! A pile of Zip disks -- with a drive!) but delivered with love. Mahalo has this new thing they do with conferences and special broadcasts where they trim down the video to 60 seconds. So for the folks that don't wish to sit through the almost 2 hour WWDC keynote can just watch a 60 second clip that shows the main points of the keynote. Thanks, Conrad! Download the show from Talkshoe, play it from the Flash player in the continuation of this post, if you like, or pick it up on iTunes. Join us again Sunday night, May 25 at a special early time -- 9 pm ET, 6 pm PT. This week (really this time!) we say farewell to our colleague across the pond, Nik Fletcher. Bring your own beer and your favorite Nik stories and come hear why he's moving on (it's exciting!). We'll even be doing some Niktrivia and giving away some collectors' items (a MessagePad 2000 manual and a copy of the Internet Yellow Pages circa 1996).
TUAW Review:

The developer, Alex Sokirynsky, is now distributing his native podcast stream receiver app via ad hoc distribution. The iPhone development world & the Mac blogosphere (not to mention the mainstream press) is still loudly debating Apple's decision, but not much is being said about the application itself. Alex was kind enough to provide a review copy of Podcaster to TUAW, so we gave the app a workout. Read on for our review of this controversial and useful application.

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts Last week on the talkcast, Christina led a lively discussion of the laptop announcements, the lack of Firewire on the MacBook, and more. You can listen in via the Talkshoe page, or download the show in iTunes / via RSS. Be so kind as to join us tomorrow 10/25 at 10 pm ET for this week's live show, hosted by me and featuring a special guest -- he's a mild-mannered industry analyst by day, a tech columnist by night... our friend Ross Rubin will be joining us, as we delve into the astonishing impact of the iPhone on Apple's bottom line and the wireless market at large. Has our favorite computer company truly gotten past the Mac? You can join the conversation on TalkShoe by using the shiny browser-only client; you can also use the classic TalkShoe Pro Java client that we all know and love. For the web UI, just click the "TalkShoe Web" button on our profile page at 10 pm Sunday. You can also listen in on the Talkshoe page or call in on regular phone or VOIP lines: dial (724) 444-7444 and enter our talkcast ID, 45077 -- during the call, you can request to talk by keying in *-8. Talk with you then! Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
