Reminder, talkcast at 10 pm ET Sunday

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts Last week's talkcast was a lively evening's chat, as Dave, Erica and I diverted from Mac geekery into Trekker nerd bingo (yes, that's not a $6 cab ride away, so no big surprise). Download the show from Talkshoe, play it from the Flash player in the continuation of this post, if you like, or pick it up on iTunes. Tonight we'll be welcoming at least a couple of our newest team members to the Sunday night festivities, along with your veteran favorites, so do drop by and join us for all the fun at 10pm ET / 7 pm PT. Bring your Mac and iPod/iPhone questions along (no, we don't know when the 3G phone is shipping -- yes, we will be talking about the availability constraints) and we'll do our best to tackle them live on the show.
Reminder, talkcast tonight at 10 pm

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts Last week's show with Mike Schramm & guest Tony Walla was a lot of fun; we dove into the Apple Store support experience and covered the week's news as well. Download direct, listen in your browser or subscribe to the TalkShoe feed in iTunes. One topic that came up on the previous show: some of our readers are having trouble reading the site from their iPhones or iPod touch handhelds, with Mobile Safari sometimes locking up or causing the entire device to reset -- not at all cool. We're trying to sort out the exact issues and come up with a permanent solution, but in the meantime iPhone users can bookmark the lean mobile version of the site at m.tuaw.com to avoid problems. Join us again for tonight's talkcast featuring Christina Warren and Dave Caolo as we get the lowdown on their WordPress 2.5 upgrades and consider the prospect of a 3G iPhone. Are you holding off on iPhone purchases while you wait for the new version, or moving ahead as planned? Tune in and let us know.
TUAW Talkcast #15: Open Phones

Filed under: Podcasts Recorded live last Sunday night, our weekly talkcast features our loyal listeners on an all-call-in show, covering Leopard tips and iPhone intrigue; you can pick it up from our RSS or iTunes feeds, or via direct download here or at Talkshoe. We're back live this Sunday night at 9 pm ET (note time shift) for a special pre-holiday show featuring guest panelist Dan de Grandpre, editor in chief of dealmac.com and dealnews.com. Dan will be joining us to help identify the best shopping strategies for Macs, iPods and iPhones as we creep up on Black Friday and the kickoff of the holiday spend-n-send fervor. To participate in the fun, check out the Talkshoe page for details; now that the Talkshoe client has been updated for Leopard you should be able to get in without a hitch. You can also call in directly from any phone by calling (724) 444-7444 at 9 pm ET, entering the show ID (45077) and then pressing #-1. Hope to hear you there!
TUAW Talkcast #6: iPod announcement

Filed under: Podcasts Last week's TUAW Talkcast features an extended program of reactions, questions and reader responses to the big iPod annoucements with bloggers Lisa Hoover, Erica Sadun, Dave Caolo and Nik Fletcher; it also marks the talkcast debut of Mat "The Philosopher" Lu. We had great contributions from our call-in listeners and it was an enjoyable show for all, if a bit echoey at times. It clocks in at 1:08 and 39 MB. You can pick it up from our RSS & iTunes feeds, via direct download here, or via download and streaming over at Talkshoe. If you enjoy the show, be sure to throw a quick Digg our way. Thanks to all of your poll responses, we're moving the talkcast to a new day and time: 9 pm Sunday nights, starting next week on September 16. We look forward to talking to you all then! For those who have had issues with the Talkshoe client, the new version released this week adds a more graceful text chat interface and the wide availability of the Shoephone VoIP built-in tool, plus 'anonymous call-in' allowing you to listen to the show over a regular phone without having a Talkshoe PIN -- more details next week. TUAW & the entire Weblogs, Inc. family mourn the loss of TV Squad blogger Adam Finley. Our thoughts are with Adam's family and friends at this time. TV Squad will be publishing a tribute to Adam on Monday, September 10. Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

TUAW Podcast #18: Macworld interview with Brent Simmons and Paul

Filed under: Macworld, Audio, Podcasts, TUAW Interview On Friday of last week at Macworld 07, Brent Simmons (of NewsGator/ NetNewsWire/ MarsEdit fame) and Paul Kafasis (of Rogue Amoeba/Audio Hijack/Airfoil fame) were kind enough to unite their powers and sit down with me for an interview. For just over 20 minutes we discussed Macworld, the iPhone, the state of Mac OS X, being a developer, whether competition or web services are slowing them down and a whole lot more. The interview turned out great, but the audio needed a little cleanup. My XtremeMac MicroMemo usually does a good recording job with my iPod, but we did the interview in the large press room hall at Macworld so it picked up some background noise. It sounds pretty good now (thanks Mike!), and it should be a good listen for anyone interested in a perspective on the state of Apple and their products from two influential 3rd party developers. This TUAW Podcast #18 weighs in at just under 21MB, and can be had from this direct link, our iTunes Store Podcast directory or our own podcast RSS feed. Enjoy. P.S. - On a related note, our TUAW podcast is now listed in the digg podcast directory. Why not head over and show some love by digging our podcast and your favorite individual episodes?
