At the Silicon Valley headquarters of Cisco Systems on Friday, President Bush advocated for spending U.S. federal money to promote new technologies and the country's competitiveness. As an example, Bush used not one of Cisco's routers or network hardware, but Apple's wildly popular iPod music players, one of which would shortly be accompanying him on a planned bike ride through Napa Valley. "I'll be plugged into an iPod," Bush said. "A lot of the reason the iPod exists is because of federal research dollars."
