Podcasts, Video Podcasts Among 10th Annual Webby
The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences has announced the nominees for the 10th Annual Webby Awards, to be held May 9, 2006. "For a decade, The Webby Awards has honored the new and groundbreaking Web sites that have changed the way we work and live," said Tiffany Shlain, right, the founder of The Webby Awards. "This year's nominees provide us with an inside look at where we're going next." New categories making their debut this year include Political Blog, Business Blog, Podcast, and Best Use of Video or Moving Image. Rocketboom, a daily news and entertainment video podcast, is in the running for two categories: Best use of Video or Moving Image; and Blog - Personal/Cultural. "I'm really blown away," said Rocketboom Director/Producer Andrew Michael Baron. "This is probably the greatest benchmark for me, because I know the Webby Awards is a very critical group of thinkers and so its really, really an amazing honor. To be nominated for two categories is just surreal."
