Talkcast reminder: the "Farewell, Nik Fletcher"

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts Last week's talkcast was a great introduction to two out of our three new faces here, as Steve Sande and Robert Palmer joined Christina and me for a full hour's chat (along with special guest Liana Lehua from Girls Gone Geek). Download the show from Talkshoe, play it from the Flash player in the continuation of this post, if you like, or pick it up on iTunes. Join us again Sunday night, May 18 at 10 pm ET for our next weekly installment. This week we say farewell to our colleague across the pond, Nik Fletcher... he's moving on to greener pastures, and he's staying up late one last time to chat about his favorite moments with TUAW. Please make sure to have a pint of bitters and a hanky at the ready. Continue reading Talkcast reminder: the "Farewell, Nik Fletcher" show Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Itching to learn

Filed under: iTS, Education, Podcasts Hot for Hindi? Up for learning Uyghur? Wild about Welsh? LifeClever tipped us off to the fact that there are 926 free language training podcasts currently available in the iTunes Store. A quick glance at the available podcasts shows that you can learn 39 languages from Arabic to Yiddish with the help of your iPod or iPhone. To find this treasure trove of linguistic goodness, launch iTunes, pop into the iTunes Store, click on the Browse link, and navigate to Podcasts > Education > Language Courses. What am I going to learn on my summer vacation? I'm waffling between Sexy Spanish and Latinum. This is a great way to get your kids to learn a language and keep them occupied during that long, hot road trip to Wally World this summer. Thanks, Tipster Chanpory! Sunday night talkcast: Mac OS X gripefest + Ask

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts, Leopard Last week's talkcast featured the dulcet tones of guest host Christina Warren and a passel of MacBook Air owners sharing their experiences with the newest laptop in the Apple lineup. Download direct, listen in your browser or subscribe to the TalkShoe feed in iTunes. Join us again on Sunday night for our next live show, 10 pm ET, where Mat Lu and yours truly will be taking a break from the Oscars telecast (if you're DVRing it, be sure to say so -- we don't want to spoil anything!) to take your questions, gripes and wishlist items for Mac OS X. Got display problems or wireless issues? We want to hear about it. Everything running smooth as silk? We want to hear about that too, but be warned that the people with problems may be very annoyed with you. Talkcast #17: December

Filed under: Podcasts Soup's on! The weekly talkcast is ready and available for your audio delectations. Christina and I talked about the Amazon Kindle, running IE on your Mac, gift ideas and more. You can download the 44 minute, 25 MB show right here directly, pick it up in our RSS or iTunes feeds, or stream it direct from Talkshoe. We've heard from some Leopard users who are having difficulty with the RSS feed in Mail.app when we have a podcast enclosure; please do let us know in the comments if you're one of the affected. We are testing on our end, and if we can nail down the issue we'll let you know. Update: Per our commenters below, it's not just us -- any feed with audio enclosures seems to give Mail the marbles of doom. Join us again Sunday night at 10 for the next installment of our funfest. As for future listening opportunities -- week after next, Sunday 12/16, I'm scheduled to cohost the Typical Mac User podcast with Victor Cajiao. It comes on right before our show (8-9 pm ET), so you can plan your whole evening. Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Reminder: TUAW Talkcast tonight 9pm

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts Unfortunately, our main man for the TUAW Talkcast, Michael Rose, is on assignment this week, and will not be able to perform his standard hosting duties. As such, I will endeavor to step into his very large shoes, though I fear the results may vary. On the positive side our blogger-in-chief Scott McNulty will be joining the talkcast this evening for the first time. We'll be discussing the biggest news of the week and as always taking a few of your comments and questions along the way. We invite everyone to join us this evening (Sunday, 9/30) at 9pm EDT over at Talkshoe. Remember, with the new Talkshoe interface you can call in anonymously (#1 after entering the show ID, 45077), auto-connect with your PIN via caller ID (#2), or just start entering your PIN immediately. VoIP clients like Gizmo, Xmeeting, Skype or Talkshoe's built-in Shoephone will also work just fine. Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Using Podcasts for Marketing
