Talkcast reminder, tonight at 10 PM

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts Last week on the talkcast, we had a visitor -- Engadget columnist and market analyst Ross Rubin helped us assess Apple's quarterly results and the impact of the iPhone on the cellphone sector. We had so much fun, the show ran over the hour mark. You can listen in via the Talkshoe page, or download the show in iTunes / via RSS. Be so kind as to join us tonight 11/2 at 10 pm ET (did you set your clocks back?) for this week's live show, hosted by me and featuring guest Geof Bowie, president of ThinkFixed. Geof will fill us in on the Mac's increasing role in the enterprise and how companies are taking advantage of specialized Mac support to enable OS X users to reach their full potential. You can join the conversation on TalkShoe by using the shiny browser-only client; you can also use the classic TalkShoe Pro Java client that we all know and love. For the web UI, just click the "TalkShoe Web" button on our profile page at 10 pm Sunday. You can also listen in on the Talkshoe page or call in on regular phone or VOIP lines: dial (724) 444-7444 and enter our talkcast ID, 45077 -- during the call, you can request to talk by keying in *-8. Talk with you then! Recording support for the TUAW Talkcast provided by Ecamm Network's CallRecorder for Skype. Talkcast #27 online, back live on Sunday

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts, MacBook Air old phoneLast week's talkcast (featuring Christina, Scott, and a bunch of your Mac questions) has been available for a couple of days, but if you've still got our original iTunes feed for podcasts in your subscription list, don't forget to add the TalkShoe feed as well -- we're not currently updating the main podcast feed, as it does a number on those of you reading the main feed in Mail.app. You can download last week's show directly from TalkShoe (or stream it from the player below), or subscribe to the RSS or TalkShoe iTunes feeds. We'll be back live on Sunday night at 10 pm ET with a post-Superbowl chat, as long as everyone promises not to tell me the winner of the big game (I'll be DVRing it and I might not have it all watched by 10 -- go Giants!). A special invite to all MacBook Air owners who have received their shiny new machines: join us for the talkcast so we can hear about how food tastes better now and there's a new spring in your step. Reminder, TUAW talkcast Sunday at 10 pm

Filed under: TUAW Business, Podcasts We fought the good fight last week, but the unstable combination of the new TalkShoe Java app and Skype did us in during the talkcast, resulting in an unpublishable recording (a shame, Mike Schramm and Christina were on and we had a good show once the fires were out -- those that stuck with us seemed to like it). To make up for it, we did a bloggers-only podcast during the week, listed as Talkcast #26; you can download it directly from Talkshoe (or stream it from the player below), or subscribe to the RSS or iTunes feeds. As noted before, we're leaving the regular iTunes feed idle until we can sort out the issues for Mail.app users reading the main feed. We'll be back on the intertubes live on Sunday night at 10 pm ET for a listener-questions call. Bring your Mac stumpers and we'll do the best we can to answer them live, or promise to check them out after the show, or clear our throats and pretend to know the answers. TUAW Talkcast #14: Leopard

Filed under: Podcasts Last week's live talkcast featured a rundown of Leopard install and feature experiences with bloggers Christina Warren, Mat Lu, and side notes from Erica Sadun. You can download the show directly, pick it up in our RSS or iTunes feeds, or stream it direct from Talkshoe. For Sunday night's live show, 11/11 at the new 10pm ET start time, we're hoping to try a new 'open phones' format to capture some of the slightly wacky energy that characterizes our aftershow conversations. Hope you can join us then (possibly with a special guest host!). Note that the Talkshoe client is now updated to work with Leopard, so once you launch it the necessary files should download automatically. Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

TUAW Talkcast #13: Two Days of the

Filed under: Podcasts Recorded live last Sunday night, our lucky 13th talkcast features Mike Schramm, Erica Sadun, our newest addition Christina "Miss Unpronounceable" Warren, and your loyal host covering the launch fervor and subsequent shakeout of the first days of the Leopard era. It's a long show, clocking in at an hour and eight minutes; you can pick it up from our RSS or iTunes feeds, or via direct download here or at Talkshoe. We're back live tonight, Sunday 11/4 at 10 pm Eastern (hope you all remembered to turn your clocks back) with an open forum for everyone's Leopard upgrade experiences and some discussion of the imminent UK launch of the iPhone. To join in the fun, check out the Talkshoe page for details; note that some users are still having Talkshoe/Leopard conflicts. You can also call in directly from any phone; to listen in without the full client, either stream the show from the Talkshoe page, or join the show in audio-only mode from any phone by calling (724) 444-7444 at 10 pm ET, entering the show ID (45077) and then pressing #-1. Hope to hear you there! Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

ESPN brings PodCenter to the

Filed under: Internet Tools, Podcasts, iPhone Add ESPN to your list of major media outlets who have designed a portal specifically for the iPhone. While they might have had an easier time customizing their PodCenter with podcasts and downloadable media for the iPhone (after all, they were already halfway there with a PodCenter), they win absolutely zero points for the URL you use to get there: http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/iphone/ If you know of a better way, please sound off. As far as the iPhone-ified UI, ESPN did a pretty good job. Shows are listed descending by date, and tapping on a specific episode presents a logo, brief description and the ability to stream the episode. ESPN has also launched a few new shows for this rev to the PodCenter, though I can't get a single one to play yet. For now, I'll chalk that up to growing pains, since this iPhone UI more or less just launched today. [via iPhone Alley] Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

TUAW Video Podcast: Suburban Square Apple Store

Filed under: Retail, Cult of Mac, Podcasts I was lucky enough to be on the scene at the grand opening of the Apple Store in Suburban Square in Ardmore, PA (I had to go since it is so close to my house). I wouldn't be the amazing blogger that I am if I didn't bring along my camcorder and create a video podcast for all you guys and gals out there. You can download it directly here (34 megs) for your iPods, or get it via the enclosure in this post, or you can watch via YouTube (which is embedded in this post, though the downloadable version has better video quality). I got to talk to lots of great folks, and I had a blast. Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
