Apple vs War on Terror #2: Mac Laptops May be Banned from Use
Apple's notebook computers could be banned from use on planes because of the potential for their batteries to overheat, which can lead to laptops that catch on fire or explode. Quantas Airlines is considering banning the use of Mac laptops in flight. We have put limitations on Dell computers and at this stage we are awaiting further information from Apple, said a Quantas spokesman. The company is seeking further information on the precise risk posed by the batteries in Apple PowerBooks and iBooks, and whether they pose the same risk as Dell computers.
