The Battle of the Self-Obsessed
A new genre of vlogs appears to be emerging - the time-lapse video self-portrait. Part art and part self-obsession, the videos combine images, typically taken daily over a long period of time, to create a video portrait. One of the most interesting examples is by Noah Kalina, a New York photographer. Kalina has published a video called Noah takes a photo of himself everyday for 6 years that provides a unique self-portrait. But Kalina is not the only person obsessively chronicalling himself. Similar projects include a woman creating video from daily self-portraits, full-body video portraits and even a time-lapse animation of a woman's body as it changes during pregnancy.
